Starter Wire

I have searched and am unable to indentify by the online or my personal FSM if the starter wire goes to the stud with or without the little jumper wire.

Car is 87 TII

Thanx

Michael

The starter wire goes from the battery positive terminal straight to the starter solenoid.

you talking about the small wire that comes from the ignition switch to the tab on the starter?

The thick cable from the battery goes to the solenoid stud without the "little jumper wire." If you hook the cable to the stud with the jumper, the starter will spin ALL THE TIME, even if the ignition key is in your pocket.

Yep, as nopistons said. hook the thick cable from the battery up to the free stud, or else you'll frig your starter.

Negative just goes to the long bolt holding the starter to the tranny.
