88 gxl, runs great.
When I crank it over and it starts, the starter still does a few cranks while the engine runs, then the starter stops and all is normal.

did a wiring check in the books and it looks like starter cut relay or interlock switch may be sticking.

Only thing is, where is the starter cut relay?

Also, the auxillary booster cooling fan comes on, as soon as I turn the ignition on.. I think the probs are related. anyone ever had the same thing or something to add? thanks all

 

go ahead and check wiring in starting system. could just as likely be a sticking bendix gear on starter, not retracting properly. in whick case you might be able to fix is by just taking apart and messing with it or replaceing the starter. starter cut relay is behind driver side strut tower under hood. there is also a main relay there (main relay is larger)

someone may have jumpered the fan so it comes on all the time, check for that first.

i dont think the 2 are related, go stare at the electrical diagrams for a while
