Starter problems
We have just replaced an N/A S5 engine, now our problem is we cant get the starter to even engage. The ground and power wires from the battery are connected properly, the conections to the starter its self are connected proper. However upon turning the key the starter doesnt even 'click'. Are we missing a ground? Or a connection somewhere? Any help would be great. We want to see if this things going to run. Thanks in advance.

IF you also notice the idiot light cluster does not light up when the key is to ON, then I'd suggest there is no power getting to the ignition switch. Check the MAIN fuse in the engine bay fuse box.
I'll put it this way, if the headlights go up/down, then the above applys to you.
IF it's good, then look about six inches below the engine bay fuse box for a single wire, black in color, with a single connector. Make sure that connector is ......connected. IT sends power to the ignition switch.
The ignition switch has about three or four connectors located about a half foot from the switch. One wire is pure black. IT should have 12vdc coming from the MAIN FUSE in the engine bay.
