1989 RX-7 Project Car

I'm buying a 1989 Mazda RX-7 from a family member here in San Diego. The engine was rebuilt, but it looks like the car will need a new interior, sound system, wheels & tires and a paint job -- and that's just the stuff you can see.

Think recent episodes of _Overhaulin'_ or _Rides_ and you'll have a good idea of how I'd like to transform this $800 fixer-upper:-) I hear these cars are great if decently maintained, but have potential problems with overheating, etc.

More to the point, since the budget for this project is paycheck to paycheck and I'll have to drive it in the meantime, how do you guys recommend I proceed restoring it little by little, from frame to the finish? Also, if anybody out there knows of sources for parts and certified service in the San Diego or LA area, I'd like to hear from you!

My internet access is limited, so best response method is via email rather than a forum thread.

Thanks.
