Unhappy Starter is Leaking Coolant

So I went to change my starter today and there's coolant coming out of the gap. I'm guessing a water seal blew out, anyone wish to confirm?

By the way, if that's the case, there's a Turbo II in the DFW area that's being parted out.

cool, well I am no expert but I am sayin thats not a good thing.
the way I see it, coolant belongs in one place-the motor- and not on the ground..
I vote its a seal/broke jacket

might be a tension bolt too.

but yeah..tear that sucker apart and find the leak.

best case scenario: there are some coolant lines right on the back of the uim...coolant could ostensibly be leaking out there and dripping down inside the bellhousing..but i doubt it

well, last week I pulled the spark plugs and they came out a little damp, so I'm diagnosing water seal leak, but I guess either way I have to tear the block down to check for the tension bolts right?

To look at the tension bolts, you can take out the starter and use a mirror and flashlight to see in there. There is a plate on top the motor that is held on by 2 10mm bolts. You can look through there too. It beats taking the tranny down to look at the bolts.
