starter issue

So I took my fc turbo to have some work done and they tell me that I have a volt drop somewhere between the battery and the starter. The first time they mentioned anything about this they said that the starter is getting power and the battery is at full power. its reading 14. something on a volt meter. What can be starting a voltage drop from the battery to the starter? Any ideas?

With what method did they test for a 'voltage drop'? Sounds more like a shady shop if they want to do something in that area.

If there 'is' a voltage issue all you have to do is run a new positive cable to the starter and a new ground cable. That will be the end of whatever issue they want to charge you for.

There will always be a voltage drop when the starter engages, this is why a battery goes 'dead' if you cant get the car to crank over.

If the engine is slow to turn over, or the starter is suspect (by you and not some 'shop' that just wants your money since you have a 'fancy turbo rotary') then upgrade the starter's positive and negative leads and have the starter itself rebuilt (which shouldnt be expensive if done by a starter/alternator/generator shop).

Edit: Out of morbid curiousity, just what did you take it to a shop for anyway?
