i know about the balancing.. but i was told if my stock stuff never made contact with the housing and the new stuff never did i should be ok.)

I make my own block off plates. I am currently doing a write-up for emmissions removal for the S5 TII. You might be interested in the write-up as my TII is also an 89 like yours. I will have some nicely detailed steps and procedures for you guys to follow if you are lost in the world of TII's

My thread is currently on this page check it out. I already have some pics of my block-off plates and by tonight I should(don't really know but I hope) have it all back together.

Not sure if you looked at them but they look pretty good for costing less than .25 cents. I made 3 Plates from 25 cents of material and probably used 50 cents of cutting tools. I basically hand cut them and sanded them into a nicer looking shape than I cut them to. Then I applied 6 or 8 coats of premium Jet black enamel on one side. I don't know how to use any CAD software nor do I own any. If you want a set of plates I can make you some for cheap. I wouldn't mind doing it again it takes ~1hour to cut and shape those little ones. The one for the ACV is a little harder to do since it is rather large compared to these. You could buy the plates made for the aftermarket which are at K2RD's website but I think those are like 25 bucks. But they do include replacement bolts and such. I just used stock bolts that I have laying around. Its not like I don't have a ton of those.
