start up

so i am getting ready to start up my 3rd gen jspec motor that i got alittle over a year ago and knowing that the motor has sat around for the last two years. the guy i got it from bought the motor with the intentions of putting it in his fc but never did nor did he never start it. wat would be some things i should do before i start it up without tearing it down. the motor has not ran since it got shipped over here to the states. i have rolled it over by hand a couple of times and it does not seem like it has alot of compression like a piston motor does when u turn them over. just wanting to get some info. thanks for all your help and if ur going to talk crap then please dont post at all.

It probably has stuck seals, put some motor oil or ATF depending on your preference and roll it around a bit to unstick them.

Though, if your motor is not in your car its probably going to sit for some more time as its not a very easy swap to do.

the motor is in the car and is almost done with the rhd conversion also, and also converting the whole car to s5 wiring. and truthfully everybody says its a hard swap, its really not, i mean there are some frusttrating parts in the swap but i feel it would of been a whole lot easier if i didnt do the rhd conversion at the same time.

get some Fogging oil,and spray it into the housings, roll it over say 1/3 of a turn.do that for three days.then roll it over a couple times. That way the seals would have been Lubed(at least in One position for 24 hours).

No Problem there Drag..the reason why I said Fogging oil, instead of ATF,is that we know that ATF will Loosen up ****,but play Havock with Seals. The fogging oil won't.
