standalone or new wireing harness

standalone or new wireing harness
well i found out that i have a short somewere in my stock 88 T2 wireing harness and i dont really feel like trying to find the problem and fix it. so my question is would it be better to jest got by a new wireing harness or go standalone.

well maybe cuz the person i bought the car from looked like they did the wireing in the dark. and i would rather spend the money to have it all fixed and working them spend time to get mad and angery at it.

i had the same problem just redo it its not that hard just finished mine took 3 days i have all new injector clips and some 3rd gen connectors i just put on it. along with new electrical tape and no booty *** conections i soldered and shrink wrapped every thing all for like 20 bucks max saved 1000 to put into new turbo

oh thats easy if i were you unless its your only car id pull the harness out and refurbish it fix connections and rewrap it in heat safe harness wrap witch can be purchsed at www.2751engineering.com its under haltec/ems upgrades

yeah man i hate it too but if it will save you that much money its worth it i think i spent like 5 bucks on a soldering gun 3 on rosin core solder and like 10 on shrink wrap got it all at the local radio shack. just be carfull pulling it off the car and under the dash there will be 2 large connector going to the ecu and 4 more above them then it will pull right through the firewall

well with that wrap or electrical tape should pevent it for crackin b/c al my wires were dry rotted almost, causing the wires to be very brittle and crack with the slightest bend just be extra careful when removing it other then that if you see any cracked or broken wires make sure you fix the or rap them up

yes sir or just see if you can put it in in a better position then the previous owner did also when i had mine out i also remove all the emission stuff off the harness along with any other unused connectors on the harness

no havent dynoed it yet but should be pushing about 350whp im runnin a monster port 750 secondaries and mad other shyt with 12 psi on stock turbo w/ ported wg but im getting rid of the stock turbo for a bnr stg 4 looking for about 450 whp
