Standalone needed with a large Street Port?

i'm wondering how agressive i can get a Streetport without needing something like the Microtech or Haltec. i'd like the car to have around 200rwhp.

i've got an S5 N/A and my mods list is linked in my sig. is my goal of ~200rwhp realistic without needing an EMS?

The stand-alone will get you that last 10% of power potential on your set-up.  It is not necessary by any means on an NA.

I have to go the other direction with my answer. I think one of the first mods should be a stand alone EMS. It eliminates the restrictive factory AFM and allows you to control the fuel delivery precisely as needed, not how the old, slow factory computer wants to. The factory computer was programed for a stock port engine to meet emisions. Your already past that with your exhaust. I'd get the stand-alone before the port job.

my problem right now and even 3 months from now is that i don't have the funds for both a EMS and rebuild. i would love an E6X and a real agressive street port but money doesn't permit it right now. i'm just hoping my engine lasts long enough for me to get the money for the rebuild before it goes on me. its developing air pockets in the cooling system once in a while. probably a pinhole leak in the coolant seals.
