Stalling problem, no power, any ideas?

Well I did a search and it sounds like I messed with my AFM a bit too much. Going to relate the story to get some second opinions.

I'm was going to a cone intake and was going to be able to let my car sit for a while, while I waited for the adapter to arrive in the mail, it's an 88 TII, I had the air box off I was moving around the big pipe that goes from the back of the AFM to the engine to see where I could mount the cone for best air flow and, being the inquizitive sort, pushed on the flapper door. I then got a call that I had to work on my day off, so I put all the stuff back together and tried to start the car.

Stalls terribly. It will start up, go up to like 2.5k where it peaks on start before it falls, then immediately die. No matter how much gas I give it it acts like I'm not giving it any and it just dies. I just replaced the fuel filter like a week ago, and it has been driving fine ever since, even earlier today it worked good.

Now I unplugged the battery for 15 minutes to see if it would forget I messed with anything and not be pissed off at me but we all know how well that works.

I really need my car tomorrow, supposed to take the girlfriend out for a night on the town, and it won't start.

Are there hoses on that big black intake pipe that may have come unplugged from me yanking on it and moving it around? I'll take it apart and put it all back together again, make sure I did it right, but as far as I know it is fine.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds to me like the pipe just came off the front of the turbo.

If you had messed with your afm or like took it apart you may be in a little trouble down the road.If you are puttting out white smoke or like your converter turning red hot this a sign as well the low idle speed and such .you need to see if its opening up by looking down in the afm while someone is in the car reving the engine what happens the rubber melts inside causing the flapper to get stuck

Well it's fixed now. It was indeed the pipe coming off the turbo. Guess I was pulling on the AFM too hard.
