I broke something in the rear and I don't know what please HELP!
This is what I did.. It may not be relivant but I thought I would include everything just in case.
I decided to put on my rear SS breaklines today. I started with the rear passenger side. I jacked up the car, got the wheel off, put the new speed bleeder on my caliper and went to undo the old breakline. The bolt for the breakline was frozen on and I got sick of messing with it so I just decided to bleed the breaks and I would revisit it later with a can of WD40. I went ahead and bled the breaks, put my rear wheel on and let the jack down.
Now this is where I think I did the damage because nothing else to this point could have. I let the car down a little too fast... I didn't drop it mind you.. but I lowered it faster than I ment to.. It made a big noise and I assumed it was the rear spring poping into place.
I got in the car to go to the store and at about 15 mph I noticed thumping type noise from the car. I could not figure out what it was so I turned around and went home. I hit about 20 mph down the steep hill to my house and the noise got really loud and you could feel the thump. I had the clutch all the way to the floor so I don't think it's the driveshaft U-joint...
I jacked the car up again and noticed that when I had set the car down the spring didn't set correctly into the top of the "spring holder" thingie. I fixed that, made sure the lug nuts were tight and the rear wheel on right and set out again.
The noise was back and at 40 mph the car was shaking... It almost felt like there was a flat tire or even a really bad flat spot on one of the tires. It scared me so once again I turned around and went home. I can't seem to find anything obvious wrong with the car. I jack up the car and shake the tire and it's a rock, no play. The noise is there when the car is in neutral rolling down the hill with and without the clutch engaged so I don't think it's possible that it's the U-Joint or the driveshaft... correct me if I'm wrong..
Also going downhill it gets a lot worse.. there are a few different noises it makes and one of them is almost a grinding noise but the thump is the most obvious.
Okay anyone have an idea of what I broke?
This could not have come at a worse time.. Lost my job, I have an interview for a new job Tues but I kinda need to be able to drive there..

That's a strange one. Check to be sure the pads are not exerting pressure on the rotors. Meaning the rotor can turn without any resistance. If the pads are tight on the rotor, it will make a heck of a sound when you take it up in speed. The only other item cv joint, which I doubt. If you have a couple jacks, jack up under rear shock mounts until the tires clear the ground, then you can start it up, put it in gear and see where the noise is coming from.
What was the problem??? And also just to enform you when you put your car in to nuetral or push the clutch in the drive shaft still turns! The only time it will not turn is if the car is not moving.
