stalling

stalling

my 86 gxl is stalling out in first....The idle is ..well it won't idle..It has been really hot the last 2 days. If anyone knows....

It's kind of embarrassing ....REd lights and traffic jams are not my friends right now :-(

Adjust your idle by using the adjust. screw on the top of the throttle body. It should be under a little rubber cap, have someone look at the tach and try to get around 75-800 RPM with a completely warmed up engine.

I tried the adjustment screw but am finding it somewhat difficult as it just won't idle steady at all .

check your tps test it with the light method you should find if you do a search on the site it could be bad or just not tuned properly or if you have an ohm meter you can use that to test it should be at 1.00 with ground once you adjust it should idle fine
