We get some true pieces of **** at the shop I work at and I have never seen a radiator hose or fuel line fail from abrasion.

They always fail from incorrect line type (for FI lines), poor rubber quality, or age/oil.

I don't see SS keeping any of those things from happening. In fact, braided SS sheathing tends to file away at anything it rubs against.
