Staggered rims anyone?

I would very much like to put a staggered rim setup on my car. Meaning an inch or 2 wider rim on the back. My problem is there doesnt seem to be much room in the front and i just wanted to know if anyone has got an 8 inch wide 17 inch rim on the front of a 1986 to 92 rx7. I looked at the rim calculator but you can't change the rim diameter on it so didnt help much. I am running 300 + hp 285 ftb rear wheel so i need all the help i can get traction wise. If i have to i was gonna put a thin spacer on the front but there is not much room to expand out either. thx for any info

yeah. 17x8 +35, 17x9 +35. Great fit. You might also want to check in the right section next time.

+35?

Roll your fenders and get +30.

Roll fender and +30 and coilovers and some negative camber = 245s in front. 265 or 275s in rear.

So you want to run a 10” in the rear? A little overkill for 300hp, definitely will not do it on stock body

Spacers should be avoided where possible

I have 18" x 8" +30 all the way around and it fits well and looks good. I'm thinking about going up to a 9.5 or 10 in the rear. I've measured, and it seems that a 9.5 would fit with no issues. I've got 235 on the front and 255 on the rear. Traction is an issue.

You can easily fit a 17x8 under completely stock fenders. A 17x8 30mm offset rim and 225/45/17 is a popular setup, and it splits the difference between rubbing on the fender and rubbing on the suspension, so it's probably the least likely offset to rub in the front. A 17x9 with a 255/40/17 will fit in the back, but be aware that running a stagger WILL give you lots of understeer unless you completely re-tune the suspension to compensate, which basically means taking away traction from the rear untill it matches the front, in which case you might as well have just put on smaller tires.

If you're willing to do a little work rolling fenders then you can fit a 245/40/17 in front, I've seen it done on a 17x8 30mm offset on rolled, but not pulled fenders. This would really help balance out the wide rears to make it handle better. It will be harder to fit a wider tire if you go for a wider rim, but then again you can get some wider front fenders pretty cheap, in which case you could do 255's all around.
