88 RX7 motor swap..HELP!

I have an 88 rx7 n/a that turned over 200k miles and the motor is pretty much worthless. The body and chassis however is in good condition and would be perfect for a motor swap. I'm not exactly sure whats easiest or whats even possible. I dont want anything rediculous like a v8 but would like something better than what i have now. maybe a 13b turbo or something. Again i dont even know what will fit. HELP PLEASE!!

if u have no knowledge on what wil fit and what wont.....DONT DO A TURBO SWAP..because its alot more complicated then droping in a motor ALOT MORE.

just rebuild yours

well u ahve 2 choices the s4 t2 motor is more powerfull but requires a drive train swap a ,ecu, boost sensor,maf,t2 hood or front mount, fuel pump, redoo exhaust, and a bunch of other work

or u have the stock motor with a rebuild

or u can have a 383 droped in but i dont u will get much help on this forum for wanting to drop in a v8

you don't NEED the entire drivetrain, it would be recommended, but the turbo engine will bolt up to the n/a trans. I will agree that it's not as simple as dropping it into the car, there are a lot of parts you need aside from the engine. Most of which are listed above.

ok. so the turbo motor will work with my transmission, what about the rear end?? obviously i'd need the wiring harness as well as the ecu, exaust and all that stuff. also wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a decently low mileage jdm motor instead of a rebuild??

JDM motors are all Turbo, and all need rebuilding before use. It is not like they haven't been sitting for 20+ years in some junk yard... and you can expect them to be fine to use.
