SS AN fuel system questions

i have a few questions about running a SS fuel system on my s4TII i am following the diagram from fc3spro.com and on the picture of the FPR it shows one of the side port lines on the FPR goes to the primary rail the other side port goes to the secondary rail then the bottom port goes to the fuel return line..well i have the SARD FPR and there is only one side port for a fuel line and the other is for the fuel pressure gauge and then it has the bottom port..so where do i run my return line? and my second question is how do i attach the SS line to the exsiting hard lines near the fuel filter? i dont have to run the SS line the whole way to the tank? thanks ahead of time for any info..

well what size is the fuel pressure gauge port? maybe you can find an adapter to 6AN, and then tee in a fuel pressure gauge somewhere else.

If you use the guage port as a fuel line it is going to suck ***... I chopped up your piscture and probably broke some copyrite laws but it will help, I hope...

To connect to the hard lines, I just used screw down hose clamps... Aaron Cake said to get an experienced welder to weld on some fittings I think...

Dude.. please, whatever you do. Dont put the FPR on the fuel feed line.. It goes on the return side. The system with the pic above is for running a parralel fuel system. Im pretty sure you can do what the pic above explains. Put a Y splitter on the feed.. then have it go to each rail, then have it go back into a Y to go into the one port on your FPR. But dnt use the fuel pressure gauge port.. Its Puny. As far as hooking it back into the return line.. Its easy. This is what you need (what I used on my system):

1 Radiused pump fitting with O ring. Mine was -10AN I believe so I used a -10 to -6AN radiused pump fitting. With the O ring being on the -10 side. (use whatever size AN you need REDUCED to -6AN) part #555-110165
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...0002_758151_-1

1 -6AN swivel coupler. part #555-110322
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...52566_-1_10019

1 3/8'' Russell Hose Barb to -06AN Male Adapter Fitting - Straight. Part #799-670300
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...53621_-1_10019

5ft long 3/8" diameter Universal Fuel Hose. Part #555-15996
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...63082_-1_10019

1 package of #8 Stainless Clamps for use on the 3/8" rubber fuel hose above. Youll only use about 1.5ft of it depending on where you mount your FPR. Mine is mounted on the drivers side strut tower and I use about 1.5 ft of the hose.

Then All you need is some teflon tape to seal everything up.. and your good to go. Good luck and I hope this helps. PM me tomorrow if you need any pics of my system. Ill go out and snap a few,

and another thing..this SARD FPR i got got from rx7 store is soooo tiny and it only has like 8th inch fuel ports..isnt that kinda restrictive or dosent it matter cause the fuel goes to the injectors before the regulator?

No, most inlets are 1/8 NPT.

To connect the -6 AN line to the hard lines.......simply slip the -6 hose over the existing hardline and then clamp it. Very simple.

I'm using a turbosmart T-reg regulator, it has 2 inlets, 1 gauge port and 1 outlet. I've heard of lots of guys using the sard FPR, and thusly I'd think that using a second Y block will be fine. But I don't know for sure.....because I'm using the tradtional setup.

IMO a pressure guage on the regulator is a waste, it only serves a purpose for setting fuel pressure at idle. i would much rather just install a gauge in the cabin or an external gauge for testing purposes.

Do you mean does it matter which side the fuel enters and exits the fuel rails? If so, then no. You can have the fuel enter from the other side as well.. just so long as you have the FPR AFTER the fuel comes out of the rails and into the return system.

haha.. yea.. Hey.. I got all polished Intake manifolds though. And.. I got a spare engine on the side thats getting some nice powdercoating and a nice street port done to it. This is just kind of a..... temporary thing.. Soon the SS line wll go from the tank to the engine bay.. then right back to the tank.. eliminating all rubber and everything under the hood will be polished or powdercoated..

Its not really good to mount it on the firewall.. try sticking it on the drivers side strut tower.. Thats the best place for it IMO. Although some people attach it to there fuel rail. or mount it right behind the alt. There should be holes you can use already to mount it on the strut tower.

That looks pretty but I would suggest covering that intake... If anything falls in there, I hear it is a B!tch to get out...
