SS Autochrome? Affordable turbo manifold?

is their stuff total junk? I dnot really want to pay for a HKS or Turblown exhaust manifold for my TII project. I have heard issues with cracking on some of their exhaust mani's but not specifically the RX7 ones. Also if anyone has any suggestions as to a reasonably prices turbo manifold for a 13BT w/ external wastegate feel free to chime in!

Thanks for your input

There were problems with them before, with the welds I believe.. There was a very recent thread about someone picking up a new one and the quality had improved greatly.

I wouldnt use the ssautochrome manifold.. Ive had 2 of them warp on the turbo flanges and one of my friends had the same problem. I can snap some pics of it if your interested.. Id rather spend a lil extra and get a better one.. the HKS ones are nice (i have a brand new one right now) but theyre undivided.. I kind of dont like that about them. but they can accomadate all sorts of different wastegates, which is cool.

ooh and yes.. the turblown manifolds and the aspec manifolds are amazing..

i believe the T51 is a vband flange for the turbo isnt it?? i payed 350 shipped for my manifold from ebay.. it was still in the plastic wrapper and everything theyre discontinued now so theyre a little harder to find. Ive taken it out and fitted it on my turbo and car.. now its sitting in my garage collecting dust.. lol. maybe youll get lucky on ebay and find one again sometime. Id sell mine but id have to sell it with the complete turbo kit minus oil lines (turbo, manifold, and hks 40mm wastegate) oh also theres a guy on here named Snowball.. He PMed me the other day that he had one for sale.. give him a PM see if he still has it

yeah the T51 is Vband. I believe you can buy an adapeter that will mate a t4 flange to the Vband, but by the time i have it dialed in, i could have bought the turblown.

Frank, details on turbo kit?

brand new HKS manifold (i test fitted it on the turbo and on the engine, i dont think that counts as using it). XS turbo .70 on the front .84 on the back Vband (ill throw in brand new in the package Vband clamps and 3" custom DP) the turbo is also brand new right out of the box. and a genuine HKS 40mm external wastegate with the valve seat and 7psi spring (the wastegate is used but works and sounds really nice im goin out now to take some pics of the manifold.. ill snap some pics of the rest of the setup if your interested

ooh.. haha.. But I wouldn't suggest going with a SSautochrome manifold unless you want to keep removing the turbo to fix little things that mess up with it.

I run the Ebay style 3rd gen mani on my t2, i did have it rewelded. But ive been putting over 400 whp through it for awhile now probably 2 years with no problems at all. Im getting ready to do a high boost tune in feb so i hope it holds up.
