Squeaking Heard When Cruising
When I'm going down the road at a constant speed in 3rd or 4th gear around 2.5k-3k rpm I can hear a squeaking that pulses quickly (it's not a constant squeal). It doesn't do it when accelerating quickly or when I open the hood and adjust the rpm and try to find the source of the squeak (thinking it may be a pulley bearing or something). I only have power steering and a dual belt pulley on my FD alternator. So I took off my power steering belt (thinking it was the idler/tensioner pulley) and took it for a drive and the squeaking was still there. Also, it seems to have effected my gas efficiency a bit. I usually get about 300 miles to a tank and it started squeaking about the time I last filled up; now it's near empty at around 225 miles on this tank. Could it be a bad bearing in my alternator? Any suggestions?

Your looking in the right place first. If you don't see anything in the motor start looking at your brakes, driveshaft and halfshafts. Start with the brake area like the hub. Look for play or dragging brakes. Then move to your drivetrain behind the tranny. Oil your pulleys right behind the pulley one at a time. Keep us posted.
