sqeaking when turning

I noticed when I turn at slow speeds or even stopped i hear a creaking noise from the front end. I just bought the car 2 days ago and when i checked the fluids i noticed it was low on power steering fluid. I filled it and it makes less noise now I think but could it have done permanent damage? Is there anything else a squeaking/creaking noise would be made by under these conditions?

Strut tower bearings. You can remove the strut covers and spray some lubricate in there. That will quiet them down for a short period.
