springs, shocks, or Both?
I also say go springs and shock at the same time. Its a bit time consuming unless you have a garage with a spring compressor. Doing it all by hand takes a while. and you dont want to have to do it twice.
In both my 88 TII and 86 Sport the stock struts fell into the tubes and never came out when I took them off the car.
I went cheap and got Eibach Pro and Tokico non- adjustables. Now.. If you want firm, close to (new) stock ride, they are great. I noticed a night and day difference after the replacement. No more dipping, swaying, and diving afterward.
However,my ride height went up considerably because the stock system was so shot.
If I coulda' changed anything, I would have gotten adjustables for the front. I think with going into autocross next spring, it woulda been nice to be able to stiffen up the front a bit.
If you have lotsa money, get coilovers. I always thought that would be fun.
