Question springs, decision

im looking at the racing beat suspension package for an 88 gxl.

are these springs a good choice?

i have searched and heard about the tanabe GF210's, whats better.

im looking for a direct replacement using original struts, ect.

it wouldnt be good to use the gf210's on the stock shocks cause the springs lower your car 1.5 inches and that is too much constant punishment on the stock shocks.

as long as you get new struts so the stock ones dont get over compressed. you dont really need to change springs, only if the ones you have now are bad.

I have the Racing Beat springs mated with Tokico Illumina 5 way adjustable shocks/struts. This setup is tighter and smoother than the original suspension with 150,000+ miles. I have gotten compliments from driving instructors at the road courses I've been on about the overall feel of my suspension setup (great handling, pretty neutral feeling), and they have a lot more experience than I do.

I like the Racing Beat springs, but I'm sure some people would prefer a progressive spring like the Eibach Pros for a smoother around town feel. Bumps and holes on the highway come through more than other cars I drive regularly (Subaru Imprezza, Mazda 3), but I just make an effort to avoid the big holes. :-)
