Spoiler Questions

I HAVE ALWAYS SEEN DECK SPOILERS (IF THATS WHAT THERE CALLED) ON FC'S BUT HAVE NEVER REALLY SEEN HOW TO MOUNT. CAUSE THERE IS ONLY ABOUT TWO INCHES OF MOUNTING SPACE UNLESS YOU GET ONE WITH SIDE MOUNTS WHICH I THINK LOOK KIND OF FUNNY. I DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE AN FC I AM IN THE PROCESS OF SAVING UP AND BEING A HIGHSCHOOL STUDENT SUCKS. THIS IS IN FACT MY FIRST POST I JUST WANTED TO SEE IF ANY ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT MOUNTING A REGULAR DECK SPOILER ON AN FC.

THIS IS THE SPOILER IM PLANNING ON BUYING.

<IMG SRC="http://www.raretrick.com/store/images/products/6643_detail.jpg">

AND THIS IS A WAY IVE SEEN THEM MOUNTED BUT I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO FABRICATE. IM A PRETTY HAND GUY AND CAN FIND A WAY BUT KNOWING WHAT WORKS WOULD HELP.

<IMG SRC="http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=322683">

ANY HELP WOULD BE NICE

in my humble opinion, those retarded ricers have gone and made is so no one can look cool with a spoiler (even those of us who actually have RWD)

if i were you, i wouldnt get a spoiler, because people will automatically assume that youre rice

Agreed.

Plus, if you add a spoiler, you have to work on car tuning to regain the proper handling balance at high speeds. Additionally, most commercially designed spoilers are pretty (VERY) poorly designed. It shouldn't be too hard to make your own, and it would be far more effecient than almost anythign you can get commercially.

If you want to make your own, drop me a PM and I can hook you up with some info on aerodynamics and easy construction techniques.

if all you want it for is to look "cool" (since thats what most ricers or people think) (personally its your car you do what you want is how i see it), then that wing is fine, if you want functionality you have to spend money, RE-Amemiya or some reputable company known for its great work with this stuff.

well im all about function. this may sound funny cause its every ones asperation now adays but i want to become a race car driver. not as a profession but as a hobby. as in scca races and possibly getting into drifting and drag. the fc is perfect for that. ive been drooling over fcs for the last year and now that i have a decent job i can save up before i go to uti in feb. that school is sketchy to me now cause it looks kinda iffy if you know any info on uti help me out. but im already enrolled.

im looking for an fc turbo II. if any one know any for sale under $4000 or so tell me. or if any one is dumb enough to trade for my ford escort wagon ill be glad to.

you may laugh at this but i learn the basics of handling and oversteer with my escort. i take it out on dirt roads and ice tracks all the time and just mess around and end up learning in the process. i broke the e brake on it so its not as fun but i can still get it sideways if im goin fast enough. i just gave the engine a rebuild too.

i agree, when you get the FC its gonna be a totally different thing, RWD to FWD, small and nimble compared to a station wagon and obviously much more power than the escort.

you may learn some things, but when you get the FC it'll be a whole new learning experience. my best advice, always try to be smooth, your clutch work, braking, and throttle work, power shifting is not faster than a quick flick of the wrist. smooth inputs of the throttle make for much faster times than giving the car shocking large throttle inputs making the suspension work more.

damn now im really second guessing uti. i can put the extra money into an fc. but they do have good benifits. but im not only used to driving an escort. i have been behind the wheel of anj 2003 corvette a 94 supra twin turbo countless FR trucks. but i didnt really get to abuse the vehicles or have as much fun as i wanted to. i have also driven an escalade navagator and some lexus luxery suv. which all belong to my friend who is loaded. their grandfather patented the touch dial phone. lol.
