Speedometer not working

Ok so I changed my clutch, I obviosuly had to remove the tranny and the speedo cable, nt that i got it all back otgeather my speedometer no longer works, Im pretty sure I put it in right, made sure the notch was lined up with the notch in the hole. what could be the problem?

Did you check to see if it's connected behind the gauge cluster?

No, I havnt, think I coulda pulled to hard on the cable itself and dissconnected it from the gauge cluster?

Yea, that cable is annoyingly easy to disconnect, especially if you're working in that area. I managed to disconnect it while changing my fuel filter.

Pull the dash apart. I'm betting the cable has come free behind the speedo.

or the teeth on the tranny end are chewed up.

Nope found out it was disconnected from behind the gauge cluster, thanks Syonyk.

Yeah, that happened to me once. I took some black duct tape and wrapped it around that sucker and the rubber boot in the firewall, so it won't come loose again. So far so good.
