Speedometer isnt work on 1988 N/A

When i bought the car the speedometer didnt work but i dont think it was hooked up, i got a new cluster in it and i pluged the speedometer cable thing in the back to the cluster and it still doesnt work. The silver box under the steering wheel that has to do with power steering i have that unpluged. Someone told me it has to do with your speedometer BUT in the tech book that you get at autopart stores just says it has to do with power steering so this have anything to do with it? Is there anyway i can fix this?

the cable goes from the back of the cluster to alittle plug on the pass side of the trany area. Look there, and make sure your cable isnt broke.

If the cable isn't broke, its probly the gears inside the tranny. There plastic for some reason and mine got rounded off. Theres a 10 mm bolt holding it on and give it a good tug to get the O ring out but be carful, you're gonna loose tranny fluid if you take it out.

The line could have also just come loose. Only way to know for sure though is to get under the car.
