2 bolts? my 87 sport has one big nut around it you just have to un-screw...
and then u just disconnect it from the back of the gauge cluster.

mine came out after a little finagling/ persuation with a small flathead and a hammer to seperate them. If you do choose to go this way, don't hit it too hard.... just taaaaaap it in, taaaaap it in.

i helped slpin take his tranny out, its a t2, the speedo cable is just attatched with a screw, a bolt and some wiggling. it should be that easy, unless you are unskrewing the wrong thing?

the cable unthreads from the speedometer drive gear. it will then pull straight out. you are unbolting the speedometer drive gear.

Yea don't pull the drive gear out. Sometimes I had to use some locking pliers and grip the big screw off on the cable, then pull it out, unless its stuck. THen get a screwdriver. The one on the back of the cluster is alittle bit difficult considering you need some lady hands.
