Speed @ RPMs

My speedometer cable recently broke and i've ordered a new one but in the mean time i have to make about a 2 hour trip and don't know how fast i'm going. So my question is how fast am i going at 3000 RMPs in 3rd 4th and 5th gear. Or if you know any other speeds@rpms then please reply.

BTW, I have a 87 N/A manual

I made an Excel sheet for my car to see how accurate my guessing at speeds was. I have it and I can send you the whole thing. If you have a TII, it should be good, but with a N/A, you might need to change the gear ratios, and then it'll calculate the rest for ya. Let me know if you want it

sorry man, didn't see you had an N/A and I deleted the file since it was on my work computer and today's my last day.... but it's easy to calculate with just gear ratios and one known speed at any RPM in any gear.

rear-end is 4.1, going to have to search google for the transmission gearing.

i know in my car ('87 SE) when i'm in 5th at about 2k RPM i'm doing about 45-50 mph. and rx7.com says that 5th gear at 60 mph is about 2500 RPM.

actually the best thing you can do is just keep up with traffic, you should have any problems if you're not driving overly agressive.

3rd Gear 3000 RPM = ~40mph
4th Gear 3000 RPM = ~50mph
5th Gear 3000 RPM = ~70mph

approximately for a RX-7 with a 4.1 rearend
