spark problem

Question spark problem

ok i need some help.i hope this is not a stupid question but,here it goes.as soon as i turn the ignition to start postion i get fire and the tach moves for two seconds then tach stop moving as well as my spark .Then when i release the key from trying to start, the tach well move again and i have spark while the engine stops turning over.while i am holding the key in the start postion i get no spark. what should i look for to get this problem fixed.thanks ,

by the way i do have power to the coil packs.any help would be appreciated.thanks

tach reads trailing spark..if what your sayin is you have no Tach..try new wires and Plugs(should be done anyhow..from a Maintenance point of view)..if that doesn't cure it ,it may be the Trailing Coil.

should the tach be moving(bouncing) the whole time you are trying to crank? thanks

yep, it should be moving when you try to start..or crank..but yeah do a full tune up and see what that brings you..

alright today i decided to work on the rx7 alittle bit more,and noticed.that if i pull the 40 amp fuse from under the hood the tach keeps moving and i get spark (when i try to start it),but as soon as i put the 40 amp fuse back in it all goes away.does anyone know why?thanks for the help, i do have new plugs and wires on the car now..thanks again.
