spark plugs

hey, this may be a noob question, and yes ive searched but came up with nothing linking directly to my question

anyway, ive had my turbo FC for a bit now, but one thing ive never had to do was swap out the spark plugs. any way, the other day she wouldnt start, so i checked the plugs for spark... nothing, no sparky sparky. so i went down to lordco to get a new set, but the guy there asked me what kind i wanted. so apparently there are starting and trailing plugs?? or thats what he called them any way... whats the difference between a "starting" and a "trailing" plug. and what plug goes into which spark plug slot... thanks for your help guys
