Spark Advance System

Where is the Electronic spark advance system? that and the Electronic spark advance knock control system? waht does it do why im asking is i dont think my timing is advancing. Im gonna check it out tommorow for sure. The car is running Extreamlly shitty. hugh hesitation when you go to rev it up, HUGH stumble over 4 grand just reving it up. Its beond me whats wrong with it just finally got the intake all sealed up no leaks so it does idle now and thats about it. but its idles around 1500 and osolates. tryed setting the timing tryed advanceing it some nothing dont even know were to start any help would be GREATLY apreshiated What do i need to check?

Electronic Spark Advance - that's a pretty fancy name for an ECU. Fixed timing signals are provided by the CAS, the distributor-like thingy you adjust timing with. The ECU then uses inputs like the boost sensor, the TPS, rpm from the trailing coil, the AFM etc. to determine advance. In your case, I would bet money that you have a bad TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). Check that out first, it is the best fit for your symptoms. Good luck!

PS - the Knock Sensor is located on a panel on the passenger side of the car above the ECU. If it goes bad, it will send a continuous knock signal, which the ECU will respond to by retarding a number of degrees.
