sound identification help!

kay whenever im driving (any speed) i hear this loud rumble, sounds almost like exhaust, and thats what i thought it was until i noticed that the pitch never changed. then i found out that if i cut hard to the right, in that second or two that the car is under heavy cornering, the sound stops. is this an unbalanced wheel? loose wheel bearing? help me out here

Do you get a shaking in the steering wheel ever? My front wheel bearing nuts where a little loose, I tighted them up, and it felt like a new car.

no, it sounds like its coming from all around...maybe the vibration is hitting the resonance frequency of the chassis and the entire car is making the noise?

Check your rear axle bearings. I had this happen on my car and one rear bearing was gone.

Check the tires, particularly the edges, for cupping or uneven wear. When you are in a turn, the weight distrubution and downward forces shift a bit to the wheels on the outside of the car. Less downward force is applied to the wheels on the inside and, therefore, they are lifted slightly and have less of the tire surface cross section in contact with the road. That could cause the sound to lessen or disappear momentarily.
