Talking sound of compression?

ok i would like a straight answer... people get too sidetracked on the forums and dont answer the question asked..... but enouhg cryin.. i want to know what detonation sounds like. i hear like one or two clicks when going up too boost.. dont hear it at full boost (11lbs) usually on the way up just one or two.
i have a downpipe and blitz sus intake and obviously a fcd . i cant get my idle to sink below 1100 to adjust timing .... after i pu ton the RP fcd but thats another story. i reset my timing to sit advanced at 1100. about half the distance between the marks.
my pilot bearing is bad but i shouldnt be hearing it with the clutch engaged. the noise i hear is like one or two very unique ***** sounds...... not rhythmic or consistent doesnt do it everytime. the powerband feels good the enigne doesnt do anything abnormal. dont tell me to search i already did..thanks guys..and gals ... you never know im just not buying the wastegate door noise .. im ported WG s4 by the way

Yes you were wrong to start anther thread with the same exact subject and problem. Don't do it again!

And I take offense to what you said, and being a moderator does not mean picking up after [insert derogitory term here] who are too lame to even find their own threads.

Okay fellas, I don't think that sitting here criticizing everyone and their brother under the sun is going to answer the question at hand. I personally don't know the answer to the question, but if somebody does, then OUT WITH IT!!!

What does detonation sound like?

Take a padlock and close it so it's locked... Same sound

No pun intended

Minor detonation sounds like pebbles on a tin roof, and major detonation is a loud ping.

The loud tick you are hearing half way up the tach is low rev detonation.
The knock sensor is hearing it and retarding the timing so it won't blow the engine as revs go higher.
It is slowly trying to crack an apex seal.

High rev knock (sounds like a rattle) is too quick to be saved by the knock sensor, so the damage happens faster.

Start by getting the injectors cleaned.
You better be using high test gas.
Now you see why many owners have AFR or wideband AFR guages, modified fuel systems, and SAFC's
