sorry if any of this stuff confuses u, but im writing this 5min before work.

tell me if this is going to hurt my engine. i am pulling the cold start out and the black canister and the cruise control, ac.

i would like to know people who have done this. on each item. if there is any precautions about removing these items. and or any tips on stuff i might need from the store. any info will help. i am trying to mount my msd over ther so i can make it easier to adjust stuff on it and see if its running right. thank u.

please post good any good writeups u have, cause i looked and could not find anything. i know some of them are easy stuff. but just in case.

also gas problem, where might there be leak other than the one on top of the engine. the car has sit for over 6 years. and would like to know if it could be leaking anywhere else. also where is the fuel filter outside the gas tank.

If you think there might be a gas leak, I *strongly* wouldn't suggest driving it to work.

I say that because I get the impression you're going to...

in response to the cold start issue, the factory cold start is actually bad for your car. revving a stone cold motor to 3krpm is not a good thing. mazda put in the cold start system for emissions control(warms up the cats). i never cold start my car, i either start it in 1st(wont cold start)or in neutral and blip the throttle slightly, which brings the idle down to a more acceptable level.
as for gas leaks, you will want to check for these! its possible that the fuel filter could leak. to look at that, you will need to put the car up in the air. the fuel filter is located on the front left of the car. i had a fun time with those little clips when i did mine!

also check your pulsation damper. they're prone to leak. you may also wanna replace all your fuel lines too for reassurance. do what rxgirl said about the fuel filter. it's on the drivers side just a lil below and to the front of the firewall.

The charcoal canister is also the gas tank vent.

The AWS can go, but in Indiana, you might want to keep the thermo-wax and it's fast idle cam on the TB.

Depends what it is you call "cold start". Are you talking about the sub-zero start assist system (injector on manifold, reservoir on firewall) or the accelerated warm-up system (solenoid valve on UIM) or the thermowax (on the TB, for fast idle not just starting)? Why are you removing it? And why are you removing the charcoal cannister?

Removing the cruise control and A/C won't affect the engine.
