Son of a bitch, learned something new today

Okay my switch surround (the black piece) was busted. The turn signal and the cruise control are like very loose since the screw holes are busted in the back. I bought one of these off a 88 RX-7 hoping to replace it. After spending 45 min removing everything and about to put everything together. That's when I noticed the cruise control and the turn signal dont fit right! It turns out Mazda switched over to a different design in 89+!!!!!!! Unless you have a 86-88 turn signal and cruise control. The old surround WILL NOT WORK. Just a word of caution

I have had good results repairing broken screw posts, tabs, & handles with Bondo marine epoxy putty stick. I even repaired an eroded water pump housing with the stuff..

S4 have the levers on the dash part and S5's have them on the column; as far as I knew. Maybe just the verts have the levers on the column?
