Angry Somethings wrong

my 7 hasent been started in like 3 months because I was getting paint and body. I got a new battery and tryed to start it. It took a while but finally started but idled at 2000rpm. I drove it around for a little while and then it idled at 1000rpm. It starts cold on the 3ed try but idles at 2000rpm. The car has 117,000 miles and I dont drive it everyday yet. What could cause this?\

how long do you crank the motor each time you try to start it? just wondering cause you said 3rd try. cause if you only crank for 2 sec. then it'll probably take a few times. as far as the idle goes, i'd expect it to actually idle higher when cold and lower when warm.

I will crank for like 5sec and it will turn like it wants to start. Then I crank another 5 and it will start but die when rpms drop. Then on the 3ed try it will turn one or twice and then start.

Cold start idle is 3000 unless you took off the cold start. Start with your TPS, and since it for 3 months you might change the oil, coolant and gas.
