Something wrong with my cold/hot idle

I took off the upper manifold a few days ago. Cleaned the bejeesus out of it. there was like mud inside. Also put in some 760cc injectors but now I have a problem.

I started the car up and was like cool it runs. so I let it warm up for abot 5 minutes in the driveway. The idle is screwed up!! after 5 minutes it was still idling at 2100 rpms. so I took the car out. runs great but idling at 2100. Then it hops down to about 1800.. then 15 minutes later down to about 1500.. Took her home.

Ripped the intercooler off and noticed the water thermo thing was still holding the throttle open slightly. I think it may be stuck but I cant tell for sure. I scered the adjustment all the way so the cold start high rpm is completely disabled now. The car idles at 750 where it used to but obviously has problems with cold starts iding at 600-800.

Do these water thermo things fail often? it was working great before. prehaps engine degreaser took its toll??

HELP!! I dont want to have to hold the throttle everytims I start or restart the car.
