something wierd i noticed w/ my boost

I have a 87 t2. My boost gauge doesn't work all the time, i can always hear the turbo spool up, but sometimes the boost gauge only goes up to 0. or sometimes it goes half way up the gauge. I've noticed when i'm running a little low on oil that the needle doesn't rise as high, and when i've just filled up the oil that i read a lot more boost. How is the oil level determining my boost reading?

Who knows. Stock gauge sucks anyways and it should not be used in any way or form to get an accurate reading from it.

Mine does that too...guess its a half-fucked boost sensor!!!

Oh, and oil level has nothing to do with boost, except if you run out of oil then you wont make any

Although not a fix, you really should use and aftermarket guage, as the readings of the stock one are far off, rendering it useless.
