Something maybe FUBAR'ed?
1987 RX7, base model.
had been sitting for awhile (3 years)
replaced all lubricants (royal purple all around)
replaced battery, alternator, plugs (bur 7&9) and wires
cleaned as many electrical connections as I could find.
made a few grounds, just in case.
the battery has been on a slow charger, during charge goes to 14.4, yet finishes charge at 12.7. when lights are running, volt needle drops below 14, when breaks are hit, goes down to 12.
had been running smoothly, but starting poorly the last couple weeks, needing to pedal the gas a little to get it going, but when hot worked fine.
went to start today after it sitting a couple hours after driving to work, and needed to be gassed a little even though it was still warm. got about half a block, and the engine felt like it was cavitating (bouncing, simply put). Got onto the road, and it died on me. Was able to get it started, nursed it (didn't want to run) back to work and parked it.
Tried to start, and does the turning, but never starts. Sounds like the plugs are in the wrong spots (made sure they're not) or are flooded.
Thinking I need the 6 & 8's, since it is more of a short commuter. A new battery, and to take the alt back for replacement.
Also maybe a compression check, just for the sake of argument.
Conclusions?
Anything else I might want to check?
Because at this point, I need to get it home, so I can sell or part, and get a toyota pickup.

Did you replace the fuel and filters after the 3 year "sitting"? If not, do that. Make sure you change both the main fuel line filter and the sock that is attached to the fuel pump in the tank.
For more info check the factory service manual.
