WHAT!, dont you own the car? if my city told me that my car would be crushed because it has been sitting in MY OWN driveway I would be pretty mad and I would just have to take out my shotgun! and tell them to come and get the car at there own risk..
Tell them they can have it for the price of it! seriously Can they even do that? I guess they should take the grass off your property too because well it just sits ther and does nothing!

i dont think they have the right to do that. If its on the sidewalk, then they can take it. But if its on your driveway, they can't touch it unless there's something wrong with it. Major oil leaks (environmental liability), outstanding parking tickets, or things like that. Why don't you just drive it around the block to get it moving and tell the city that its being driven, so they can **** off.

Actually the law in NY is that even if the car is in the driveway it has to be registered and insured, a law never inforced, UNLESS someone complains. If he has a back yard to push the car into and hide behind a fence that might go over until someone complained about that too.
Chances are the cops have a hard on for him or someone complained.

I can't believe a city would do this. Are they prepared for this ****. I think SWAT would have to take me down before my car'd be taken and possibly crushed. BLOOD BATH! My car was towed once and it was the first time I'd considered killing many people on a massive scale.

BTW: I am a little menatlly unstable and would almost be considered a walking time bomb. Hmmm, that's an idea, sit in the car with a lot of explosives.

Why didnt you say something EARLIER?? I would have mailed you a starter for shipping only, if your situation was that bad..

Can't you just tow it over to someone else's house for a week or so? I mean what can they do if it moves? Thats BS, and I'd tell them to be prepared for a lawsuit.

he has to have it registered with plates on it, i am assuming that is. you cant just say you drive it like here in the good ole south.

**** you dont even have to ahve a whole car here. Mazdaspeed7 has like 8 cars in his driveway and 2 of them, used to be three, dont even have engines, let alone plates

LOVE THAT SOUTH

If it's got current registration and valid plates than how can they possibly tell you to move it? Just tell them it's not a daily driver it's your weekend car. There has got to be something you can do. This just doesn't make sense.

But hey, if you must sell it then let me know and I will arrange pick-up...

Starter is easy to find, why do you need an s-afc? You have huge primaries? If you just have larger secondaries you can drive the car still. Here might be places to ask about starters:

Buy a car cover and put it over the car. Practice saying: No officer, it isn't the same car that was sitting here last week. It belongs to a friend of mine, i'm storing it for him. Yes it is registered. No you can't take off the cover, unless you have a search warrant. You don't. I'm sorry then, I promised that I wouldn't take off the cover. Have a nice day.
