Someone please help!!
I have a 87 t2 and it doesnt idle...brand new spark plugs. new walbro fuel pump, new fuel filter, if i take it over 3500 rpm it starts sputtering like a rev limiter...if i floor it it wont go over 3500 and if i lightly press the gas pedal it will go over 3500....but the turbo wont spool...and it backfires like crazy...i have no idea what is wrong with my car..the turbo spools if i spray starting fluid in it while i floor it...it acts like its running lean or not enough fuel to the injectors...please tell me what u think...thanks!!!

Secondary injectors perhaps, for the rev limitation problem.
Possibly vac leaks or faulty TPS for the idle problem
and possibly some other problems either related to or caused by ideas like spraying starting fluid into a turbo to spool it while diagnosing idle and fuel delivry problems

By the sound of it one of them it's working at all. It could be dead (unlikely) or it could be a loose or dirty connector. They could also be dirty. Since you have to pull the UIM to get to them, this might be a good time to pull all four injectors and have them professionally cleaned.
The idle probelm sounds like a big vac leak. If you still have the stock TID, pull it off and thoroughly check it for cracks. They commonly split at the turbo end due to heat hardening the plastic. Check all the other air plumbing connections too.

Sounds like a massive vac leak of some kind. Check your TPS setting. With the backfiring and all id say start with that. First though you have to rule out all the vac lines and make sure that engine is sealed properly. Check all those lines out and let us know.
