Some Sort Of Grinding (Clutch?)

Ok, when I first got my 89' TII a few weeks ago, I noticed a very slight grinding when I had the clutch depressed all the way. Didn't really worry about it, because it was only something I could hear when it was completely quiet and my windows were rolled up w/no music, but now it seems like the problem has grown. Now when the clutch is in all the way when I start, it grinds until I let the clutch up just a little bit. I figured it was only when the clutch was in all the way, but just recently, when i'm in like 3rd or 4th gear, it grinds when the gas pedal is pushed like 1/4th of the way down, a lot louder than when I first noticed the clutch thing, but still not like huge sound. Anyways, could the only problem be the clutch? Have any ideas on what it could be? Also, i'm a total car n00b, but I am very good at building things, and I was wondering how hard it would be to replace the clutch? I have some friends who have a bit of car knowhow, but are there any guides that would lead me in the right direction? If its too hard i'll just take it to the shop, but being as I just got the car and all, I dont have much to spend. Thanks for the help in advanced.

that could be your tranny. if its doing it in gear. have you checked you tranny fluid level? that would require you to get under the car with a adjustable wrench and pull the plug in the middle of the tranny. then take your finger and put it into the hole(pinkie) and see if you get some fluid on it if so its fine if not then you get the fun job of filling it... or take it to ao wal-mat with a tire center. good luck.

Whats involved in the filling of it? What stuff would I need? Also, where exactly is the plug? Is it easy to spot?

you will see it its a square plug on the driver side of your tranny. filling it is a bitch i would recomend finding a shop with a pump at least.trying to fit a bottle up there is imposible.

Damn, i'm used to working on computers, and when you need to get to something, you can just turn it over. I wish i could just like lift the car up and work under it with the other hand, lol
