some sensors going crazy?!
Hi Guys.
I drive a 86 FC. I think my P/S never really worked correctly anyway, because it never was really smooth when the car stood still (compared to a 87 TII I once drove). But since some months, sometimes its much to smooth at higher speeds and the other way round. Thought it might have to do something with my speed sensor as I read previous posts. But my cruise control works perfect. But since some weeks my AutomaticAdjustingSuspension (AAS) goes crazy and at certain speeds it constantly switches the actuators (can see it on the voltage-instrument cluster). So what can be wrong?

The battery is grounded directly to the engine by a heavy cable to the starter bolt.
The body is grounded to the engine by a short white primary wire that bolts to the topmost part of the bell housing, and clips on to a spade connector on the firewall, just to the right of center (passenger side) above the brake & fuel lines.
That wire carries ALL accessory & ECU load.
If that wire is the least bit weak, your electrons will get creative & try to find another path.
Then all kinds of bizarre things can happen.
An original exhaust system will have some ground straps, but who has an original exhaust?
I'd start by beefing up the primary body ground.
