Some Real progress on my rebuild!

I am finally getting this done! All the parts are here... I'm ready to go!

-I have painted the housings...

-Gotten all the seals... (missing some in the pic)

My rear main seal has some tears in it(came from atkins thaty way)... can I assemble the motor with out that and then put it on when a new one comes?

-Gotten the flywheel back from the macine shop

-put in new primary injector air bleeds

-clearanced the new side seals (what a pain in the *** that was... not hard... just alot of seals to do)

-and started the wet rotor assembly!

The rest of the motor will go together when I get home tomorrow! I cant wait!

Hopefully I will have the motor in the car by next monday and running(that may be too much to ask for...) Now I just need to decide on a clutch kit ($100 autozone kit, or the $300 autocross/competition clutch) and find an exhaust(can anybody help me out on this?)

Thanks for looking-
Rob

good job on the rebuilding, i would go with the autp x set up if you plan on making more HP, but for stock setups i would go with the autozone one. and for exhaust i go with RB personally thier craftsmenship is awesome

I think the best exhaust would be something custom. But if you still have the stock exhaust, then I suggest one from ss autochrome. Its really nice and a str8 bolt on.

My rear main seal had no tears or anything. I got it from Rotary Aviation, but I don't think there should be any tears in it, no matter who you get it from. Aside from that, the engine looks great. I like the red CAS and oil filter pedistal.

^^^agreed about the ss autochrome exhaust...... full downpipe-back stainless steel 3" exhaust......and you cant beat the price.....they are always on ebay...... definently dish out the $$ for the better clutch.... you'll regret it later if you dont....... if you get it now, thats just one less thing you have to do later!! and saves you from having to drop the tranny when you finally do decide to upgrade... good luck on the rebuild

I was going to do the housings and front cover that red but my bro talked me out of it... now I love the way it looks with the red accents on the silver and black motor... I couldve done a better job taping off some areas... but what the hell... its going to get dirty quick in the engine bay.

For the exaust I am looking for something cheap... maybe used... even stock... I was hoping somebody in the Upstate NY area could hook me up with something until I can afford something better (Which is looking like its going to be a while since this engine is not as cheap as I thought it was going to be).

As for the clutch.. I want to autocross my car... but I'm not looking for huge HP numbers... just yet

Hopefully it will be running by monday... but that may be a stretch since I'm still waiting on parts. Im using the mazdatrix gasket set... not the RA... so the coolant seals are stok or at least the right shape
