Some Questions about a TII car...
Hey guys- I am looking at a 1987 TII car. The car has had a transplant engine from Japan... I have some questions though...
The engine has a miss at low RPM's... It will pull through it and when the turbo kicks in the car will skoot... However I am not sure what is causing the car to miss... When it is idling it sounds like an engine with a hot cam in it...loaping.... The miss seems to be until about 3500 RPM.
He is only running about 7-8psi of boost.
No power steering or AC... How hard is it to put them back on...
Car also needs a new heater core... Dash out? How hard?
The boost guage (aftermarket) also does something that i have never seen a boost guage do... the needle bounces around when its boosting...it goes up to about 8psi and bounces back and forth right around it...
he is asking $4200

If the engine is ported, it may have a "lumpy" sound to it (like a cam). The idle may bounce a bit if it's a good sized port. If the engine is not ported at all then it shouldn't be bouncing.

Its a slight miss... it will pull though it... and when the turbo kicks in... its gone...
Someone help me here... I am not sure what kind of engine he had imported from Japan... but it just looks like a stock turbo II engine. Stock intercooler.
This is going to very ...well.... I dont know how to decribe it...but the engine sounds like this when you go to rev it.

I spoke to the guy again tonight. He does not have any of the air conditioning "stuff"... While I am not really concerned about finding the parts ... it looks like they are available. It will bolt on right?
I do have a question about the powersteering however... When he did the motor swap... he said that he could not find where the powersteering pump fit in... Do the Japanise engines have power steering? Will it bolt on also?
