back is jacked up here, looks a little strange.
KYB AGX's and camber plates. didnt take and pics of the RB springs and swaybars and SS brake lines
ported the wastegate a little. and the backing plate so the flapper door can open a little more. we took it down to about half the thickness so the door opens quite a bit more.
yeah i suck...

Damn man! SO, how did it get the Haltech

Nice porting job on the turbo. You could take your back cutting and run it all the way to the downpipe outlet. Somebody did that and it looked like it made sense.

On a difficulty level of 1 to 10, how would you rate your port job, including removal and reinstallation of the turbo??? Looks really clean, I got a 10th AE TII, and you make me want to have a S5 TII. I cant help love those bumbers and light, not to mention a bizillion other nice improvements, ie power!!!

i've removed a turbo out of an FC about 15 times probably, and we can do it in about 35-40 minutes. it took us about 45 minutes to take the turbo out and only like 20 minutes to put it back in... i'd say for a beginner that has all the stock stuff (air box, air pump) its probably and 8 out of 10 on difficulty. with only diff and trans being an 8 or 9.
the porting can be difficult. it really sucks if you dont have the right bits. if you have the right bits and a good grinder its pretty easy.

Hmmmm, good info. I asked since I have my 10th AE sitting awaiting an intake filter to come in and I should be busy while I wait and do other important things. I plan to get the RB exhaust, and hopefully keep the boost around 10-12 psi since this isnt a rebuilt engine (121K miles) so I dont want to go all crazy and not be prepared for it. I want some basic mods like a TID, HKS air filter, RB full exhaust, FCD, APEXi AVC-R, S-AFC, 720 secs, and a Walboro out back. No hybrid turbo on this engine or EMS. I just want to krank up the boost a little and have the fuel to back it up. My hp goal for now si about 200-220 WHP. In your opinion, is it worth porting the wastegate of my stock turbo. Thanks a whole bunch in advance. This turbo stuff is like learning about RX-7's all over again!!! LOL, Im soo used to my NA already. Thanks again.
Oh yeah, Ive already removed the original TID, ACV, and air pump system.

With what you are planning:
-RB Turbo back
-TID
You will have massive boost creep problems.
Port your turbo now. Boost control is a beautiful thing and you can never have to much of it.
If you wonder how well your boost control is now. Run the turbo without a boost controler. See how much boost it goes up to. This is the lowest boost you can run. There is no boost controler that can change this.
So, port it now and don't worry about it latter. Besides. It is not that damn hard.
Also, if you are running a S4 turbo you can port larger. And then put a big ol washer in place of the stock flapper. Search for it...good stuff to be found.
