good chance it's a differential mount, but does it do it if you shift hard and gun it into any other gears? if not, then it might not be a mount, but it still could be if the mount isn't completely destroyed.

Most likely a front diff mount.

Front diff mount clunks when you let off the gas, when you punch the gas, in between shifts, and really hard at launches. Fix it before you break anything else.

So I got and idea for a quick fix. I know it may not be the best but if I can't find a replacment one and I DON'T want to pay $160 + shipping for a new one.

So My idea is to basically wked the thing solid. By boxing in the rubber part with some steel plates.

Does anyone see any problems with this other than maybe a ruffer ride when I shift?

It won't be permenant but I won't have the money for a new one until a coulple weeks. It's my Daily driver by the way so it's kinda urgent.

also when my mount broke , i was on a launch and it put a nice lil dent in the bottom of the car where the mount hit.....

Thanks. I'm not doing anything other than driving my car to work so maybe....I may have found one but depending on how long it takes to ship and such may be a week or so before I get a good one.

I don't see why the temporary replacement wouldn't work. I just searched corksport.com and their Mazdaspeed diff mounts went up in price!!! I bought then a couple of years ago for 1/4 the price!!! Good luck man and just be smooth on your take offs and you'll be fine..

If it's the front mount then yeah you'll see it. put the car up on ramps or jackstands and push up on the back of the driveshaft. If the diff moves alot then it's bad! It's got a rubber mount so alittle play I guess is fine.
