solid transmission mount install question
okay whats the trick for installing solid tranny mounts? there are 2 pieces to the subframe. a small piece that is attached to the tranny with 2 bolts and the larger piece that attaches to the chassis with 4 bolts. if i bolt the small piece on i cant get the mounts onto the larger piece to bolt it up. if i bolt both pieces up at once i cant get my hands under the smaller piece with a wrench to bolt the smaller piece to the tranny. im about to just drill 2 holes in the larger piece so i can get to the 2 bolts on the smaller piece. there has to be an easier way. if there is a write up or somewhere that i missed just point me in the right direction. thanks

the tranny is in the car. i can seperate the 2 pieces and bolt the smaller piece (the one with the red holes) to the tranny. but then i cant get the mounts on and the bigger piece attached while its on the car. i can get it all bolted up (how it is now) but i cant get a wrench in between the 2 pieces and get the 2 bolts through to secure it to the tranny (the red holes).
Its easiest to do it piece by piece. Bolt the smaller section in the middle up first, then the bigger section on the outside. You're gona have to get the tranny to come down quite a bit in order to install the crossmember without the chassis interferring. I would actually advise to just remove the tranny all together. One problem I had when installing my poly mounts was that I had to bore out the holes on the x-member in order to get the tranny bolted up again, I dont know if that would be nessecery for you though
