So where did I F%#$K up?
So here's the deal:
I just replaced the pilot bearing on my 89 TII to aleave problems getting into gear. After replacing the slave, and trouble getting the tranny off (it was way ninja stuck) and finally getting everything back together (also a pain cuz I had to "bolt-seal" if you would the tranny back to the engine meaning that it didn't just slip right in like a good girl, I had to use the bolts to pull it together.) The clutch feels great; better than ever. No problems shifting it into gear. The problem now is that it is running like absolute CRAP!!!! It floods almost everytime it stops, crazy power loss cuz it sputters like mad as it runs, and now unless I baby the gas pedal it will die when I try to accelerate.
So, according to my rationale, either I somehow completely fucked up putting the clutch back on and it's not engaging right??? that doesn't make complete sense, but I'm still new to this ****.... Or there is a coincidental fuel problem.
The reason I think of the fuel is that before the pilot went out, I remember a couple of times that it died on a hard left with at least a quarter tank; and also, I ran it of gas twice ( I'm an idiot, I know... in both instances I was a quarter mile from the next station.) So I'm thinking that the sock filter is screwed, and that possibly my injectors may be clogged gauging from previous posts I have made regarding other problems and the potential gas tank goop that was maybe sucked up.
So I'm looking for opinions regarding the matter:
First time tranny re-install mess up or coincidental fuel problem?
Also, regarding the sock filter, I have a walbro 255, does that matter in replacing the sock filter or is the filter irrelevant and independant of the pump; the FSM didn't really specify.
Thanks!

That's another possibility that I thought of as well; I'll double check the vac lines when there is daylight tomorrow.
I had read some threads on here where guys had needed to draw the tranny with bolts before and thought it was "ok" but that's what I get for trusting the intranets, lol. Thanks for the advice.

A. these guys are right, the tranny/clutch assembly should NEVER EVER be drawn together for a multitude of reasons actually. Albeit the Rx7 clutch/trans mating process is one MOTHERf mumble mumble to get done sometimes.
If you are having problems in the future (I see you pulling the trans possibly again soon heheh) then turn the motor barely a few degrees while moving the trans in and out of the socket, sometimes that helps it slip in, nothing is made perfectly to tolerances so sometimes a spline here or there is ornry.
B. agree with ^^^^ also above you most likely either nicked or pulled a vacuum line off somewhere on accident.
Remember Rx7s can do just about ANYTHING jacked up seemingly just because of a vacuum line. Idle, low brake pressure, dying, rev problems all kinds of ****.

Respecognize!
if your putting the transmission into the car with the engine IN the car already, best way i have found is to leave the transmission in gear the shimmy the output shaft splines to move the input shaft to get it to line up..
also....did you use the alignment tool to make sure the clutch was proper?
