so im pulling my engine and the tourq convertor is stuck on the rod that comes out of the tranny in the bellhousing, i dont remember the name of it but i can seperate them, im pulling and prying and it came out about an inch and a half, im i doing this right? what can i do to get them apart?

 

Unbolt the convertor from the flywheel.

 

if its a locking torque converter you have to twist it...after you unbolt it like turbonut said of course...good luck

 

i thought i wouldnt have to unbolt it because when i tried it all started turning, how to i keep it from turning..

 

Sorry-should have explained further.There are "ears"
on the imput shaft which is holding the convertor onto the shaft. As stated above, unbolt from flywheel, then if you want to remove the convertor, you need to turn/twist.

 

ok i see what you are saying, i still didnt get the engine off yet, its still in the bay, i try to pry it, it still has the fly wheel and the tourq convertor all there its come out only so far abd i can see the input shaft but nothing will come out anyfarther..

 

ok, thanks for your help guys, but as i walked back outside and pried it one last time and it fell to the ground lol i ddint think it would come thanx again!
