So i started my car without the exhaust (omg)

I had to pull my exhaust off to pull my tranny so only the header was left on. I just recently started my car cuz i didnt want it to be sitting for too long while i finish fixing it. and holy crap, that thing was SOOO loud, i was actually scared to rev it past 2k. I didnt think the presilencer helped that much cuz my car is so loud but damn, now i know it does. if you ever have to take ur exhaust off for anything i suggest you start the car so you can appriciate how quiet it really is

lol, try having your exhaust drop when you're on the interstate... Horrid. Had to drive an hour home back with the exhaust in the back hatch. You have no idea how much open manifold hurts the ears.

its absolutely awful. windows open because it was 110 out, driving in the fast/left lane next to the concrete median divider that reflected everything right into my ears

I started mine wy Impreza with just Borla Headers on after i did my clutch to make sure it worked fine on jackstands, and it sounded like a V8 on Steroids. Too bad my TII sounds like its 4 times louder than it with mufflers on both the cars though.. Hehe..

Well,
I have run Striaght manifold!!! lol

on my NA it was F=ing loud!!

I drove it to my friends house for fun

Sounded like a nascar

Dezerte.

Rotaries are loud because the combustion cycle almost ends in the exhaust.

We do not have heads and valves to reduce the noise.

It goes from the combustion chamber directly to our exhaust.

That is why rotary exhaust temps are higher than pisotn engines and it's why a piston exhaust wears out quick on our cars.

I drove my N/A around for a few minutes with just my open RB header, just for fun I thought my ears were going to bleed. If you think its loud at idle..try 7k rpm under full throttle

I did it once with my old na, I loved how aggressive it sounded, some of the V8 guys accross the street came running over thinking I had swapped an ls6 in or something and ran it open exhaust. It sounded meaner than all their v8's. LOL, that was fun.

yah i tried that with my turbo. drove around straight dp, loved it thoought it was loud, but i am sure that you na guys got me beat since the turbo itslef does quiet it down a bit. although i did run it for few seconds with nothing to enjoy the flamage till i relized that my oil feed line to the turbo was just hanging there pumping oil on the floor.
